Little River is a small estuary that flows from DeKalb County in Northeast Alabama through Little River Canyon Federal Preserve down to its terminus at Weiss Lake in Cherokee County. Little River Canyon is the largest canyon east of the Mississippi River, is the only canyon in the world that sits completely on top of a mountain, and it is home to several species of plant and animal life that haven't been documented anywhere else on the planet! Little River is clear and cold, and full of wildlife. The vast majority of homes on Little River will have boat access to Weiss Lake, but being that it flows through a canyon, make sure to check with your local Lakefront Living expert to determine whether you have access to Weiss Lake by boat!
