Walker Pond is a 110-acre pond located in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. On one side of the pond is a neighborhood of approximately 160 homes (mostly built in the 1970's and 1980's). The other side of the pond is surrounded by Wells State Park and wildlife management areas. There are only a few homes in the neighborhood that actually have water frontage, however, all residents have water access. Walker Pond is a unique and appealing neighborhood because of its recreational facilities. These resident-only facilities include: one large main beach area with a playground and ball field, a smaller beach on the North end of the neighborhood, a tennis court, and a horse stable.

HISTORY: Sometime in 1950-1958 the land (which is now the State Park) was given to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. It was at this time that Jack Ellis and some others, including Jack Cronin and Otis Goodrich, bought the remaining property which is what we now know as Walker Pond. These men developed the area and planned the ball field, beaches, and stables together with common property set aside with rights-of-way known as vistas.
