Stafford Pond is a large, 480 acre reservoir, one of the larger reservoirs in the state of Rhode Island. There are a few large coves at the north end but for the most part the pond is broad and open. At almost 2 miles wide and over half a mile wide, it hardly fits the usual image of a "pond." The west shore is largely wooded, but the east side is more built up. There is a cement plank boat ramp and a gravel parking lot at the put-in. Only non-motorized boats and boats powered with an electric motor are permitted because this is a public water supply. This pond is stocked with trout several times throughout the year. This site provides access to the following water bodies in the Taunton River watershed: Stafford Pond.
