Arguably one of the prettiest lakes in the whole state of New Hampshire is Lake Wentworth. Located in the eastern region of New Hampshire and part of the Lakes Region, Lake Wentworth has an epic 3,116 acres of surface area and a 20-mile shoreline. While this lake is generally overlooked due to the proximity of the better-known Lake Winnipesaukee, Lake Wentworth is incredibly beautiful and will definitely take your breath away. The lake is most popular for swimming as there are two public beaches at the lake: Albee Beach and Wentworth State Park Beach. Meanwhile, the beaches provide a great spot for picnics, tubing, and waterskiing while other surrounding areas of the lake give way for antiquing and even museum hopping.

Lake Wentworth is located in Carroll County in eastern New Hampshire, in the town of Wolfeboro. At 3,116 acres, it is the seventh-largest lake located entirely in New Hampshire. Water from Lake Wentworth flows through the short Smith River into Crescent Lake and then over the dam into Lake Winnipesaukee in Wolfeboro. View on the LAKE CAM.

The Lake Wentworth Association (LWA) was established in 1930, with Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas as one of the founders. The Association was established for the protection and preservation of Lake Wentworth and Crescent Lake as well as the wildlife and habitat associated with them. Promotion of knowledge about the lakes and their history is also part of the association's mission.
